Hello! I have a similar problem. I use a dual pentium machine, and I have never been able to shutdown. At the end of the shutdown process, the terminal-like screen says "power off" and stays like that forever, until I press the power button for more than 4 seconds.
I have alrready posted this question a few times about a year ago, but never got a reply, so I ended up thinking I was the only one to experience this problem. I don't remember the board type, and I have no driver at hand to open the case, but I have the same problem at home with an old Abit dual processor board with 2 celerons.
