Hi Narfi, Seems you have solved the puzzle we are all having with this alsa sound setup. I went to the website you mentioned above, but none of the suggestions worked for me. Do you think you could send me your /etc/modules.conf file so that I can compare it with mine. My condigureKDE-info-sound window says:- Synth device:Not enabled in config Midi dev: Not enabled in config If this means modules.conf then none of the suggested unmute aliases have worked for me. Seems the alsa sound driver is running and, configure-KDE-System-kernel conf-sound-VIA82c686 audio codec+Midi are both "ticked"
