  Hmmm, so there is.

Actually No, 
The implication is that I missed mnt/  off,
but actually hda7 is the boot OS ,not the spare exts partition (hda9)
which I want to mount in order to gain access to it.

ext2-vol6 is a directory in /mnt and the access point to the partion
hda9.
