way to do this.  there are others.

odd, if i understand correctly what you are saying, that shouldn't be the 
case...  explain again maybe i don't follow.

again this is kde, but right click the window bar, and select store 
settings.

when you say you set the association, what do you mean?  if you move an app 
to the top of the list, it will be the default.
