I have a 233mmx IBM300pl system with 160mb ram and it is running linux and this email went through it to get to this list.. so they work well enough..
I had to use rawrite on the mandrake CD to make a linux boot disk.. (I think the directory on the cd that contains the images is called /images) so in windows, insert the mandrake8.2 CD. browse the cd till you find the directory called "dosutils" in there is a file called rawritewin.exe run that. when the app comes up, click the browse button next to the "image file" box and browse to the cdrom and the /images folder, once in there, chose the cdrom.img file. then click the write button with a good blank floppy in your a drive. thats it, put the floppy in, restart the system.. I did that several times with my 300pl, and it always worked for me.
