Tried all that, to no avail. Permissions OK - 644 on all the zip files. I also tried logging in as root - no dice. Tried ./install --interactive. Placed trace statements in the install script - everything appears to go OK but setup runs for five seconds only - installer reports "Installation complete". No OpenOffice.org1.0 directory in /usr/local, or anywhere else. No point in going back to user. I guess I shall have to wait until an RPM is available. -- Len Lawrence
