The switch is fine for networking, but it doesn't do the same job as a router 
for network connections.  To set it up for a network, simply connect the 
switch to your external connection, modem, I presume, and each computer to a 
port on the switch.  Then run the wizard in MCC to sort out addressing.  It's 
much the same as setting up a network in windows.

There is also an Internet Connection Sharing wizard, which should sort out 
that problem for you.  I haven't used that, though, so I can't help much.
