You are free to Google 'what's wrong with Outlook' or refer to the applicable RFC's to see what I mean. <snip>
As imperfect as all Windoze, and subsidiary programs are, for the near, or possibly far, future I will have to use them. That is one reason I am trying to learn how to use Linux. I doubt that a Linux world would be a perfect one either but I do know that Linux is more stable and, once learned, usable. When Linux becomes big enough there will be those that will attack it as they do Micro$oft programs. That is already beginning to happen with Firefox, IMHO the best browser around. As imperfect as Outlook is, it's head and shoulders above Outlook Express. I do have Thunderbird on my laptop to see if I like it. [ Which, for as much as I have played with it, I do. ] I am seriously considering migrating to Thunderbird on my Windoze desktop. In operation on my desktop I can't tell any difference between Outlook and Kontact/K-Mail in the display of messages. Well, other than the obvious HTML bar down the side of HTML e-mails and the "signature" stuff at the bottom. Perhaps there are subtle differences that I am missing. I take no offense. I know that M$ programs are flawed. <snip> As to top-posting, it is not a generally accepted practice, however you free to do so if you wish. It is up to the rest of the list to decide whether to tolerate it. Your call. Personally I don't get too wound up about it, but there are those who take it more seriously. I'm more annoyed at the people who don't prune, like, say, ARON SMITH ;-) <snip> My only real comment was that for people that don't prune down their replies it makes tons more sense to top post. That way the response can be read without having to read an entire thread to get it. Preferable would be to prune out all the extra garbage and only reply to the points you wish to make. Personally I DO prefer to prune, sometime heavier than others, and post below my "quote". [ As I have done here ].
