Oh, but you do need a solution. The pain you claim about adding the ">'s" is exactly what Anne is refering to. Example: I select part of a text and hit "reply to list" and that part automagically has the ">" (or something else if I choose" inserted on every new line. A subsequent reply would add yet again a ">" making it ">>" , etc. Win mailers like "the bat" have all sort of insertions like the original mailers initials (which I personally think is daft) so it's not an OS thing.
