Well, for a start Nvu isn't a KDE app, but I don't hold that against it :-) I'd advise a complete newbie who wants a WYSIWYG experience to use Nvu to start with, and then graduate to Quanta. Go for Quanta if you intend to become a pro web developer. And never under-estimate the learning power of doing it all by hand in Kate, a great way to learn, but frustrating for a complete beginner.
