Hi All,

I have a USB memory stick, and for some reason it isnt working with 2006......

I have a digital camera that is working fine, and that is basically a USB removable drive......... I plug the USB stick in, it's communicating with the PC, and it's even showing in Harddrake, as /dev/sda1 as old device file and then it's showing as /dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/disc as new devfs device.....

But it's not auto mounting......

Any ideas?? I have tried to mount both /dev/sda & /dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/disc and sda1, but it throws a wobbly telling me that the device isnt found in fstab.......

Any ideas??

Cheers,

Jamers

It should get mounted automaticly on a mount point in /mnt. The exact name of the mount point depends on a bunch of Hal rules. For example, I have a PNY memory stick that gets mounted on /mnt/UDISK20.

If you camera was not mounting probably, then I would suspect that messagebus was not running. What does /var/log/messages show when you plug in the drive? If it was working correctly, if should show something like this:

The last line tells you where the device is mounted.
