That was to easy.  Next time make it harder.  NO never do that.
   I tried mouse drake in safe mode and naturally it didn't work.  I 
tried mousedrake and got the choices.  All I needed to do was OK it 
because the selection was correct.  I did after exploring a little.  
Mouse now behaves properly.
   At this time of year, I have more money so may be able to get a 
new modem which will work with Linux.  My current win-modem certainly 
won't.
