Guys/Gals,
How can I convert MS Access files to Open Office Base. I know that I
can connect to MS Access database but I don't want to keep MS Access
databases.

OP,
There's several ways to get the job done;
1) Navicat will import, covert and export M$ Access DB's. The link below
will take you to their site, where you can download a fully functional
30 day demo of their product:
http://www.navicat.com/linux_detail.html
2) There's a new package that is available called 'kexi' - it's either
available as an integrated part of KOffice, or as a standalone package
in Linux. It also handles M$ '.mdb' files, but the Windows version must
be purchased, while the Linux version is free.
3) The commercial version of OpenOffice - StarOffice can also import and
export those DB files.
4) One last alternative that comes to mind is that you can always export
the database as either - Text, Tab or Comma separated values. This will
allow you to export your database tables as individual files in 3
different formats.
At least one of those standard formats can be imported by most common
database systems, so export in all 3 formats and you'll be all set.
