Hello.

Configuration:
HP Pavilion zd8000 laptop.
Pentium 4 3.40Ghz.
2Gb RAM.
Mandriva One (As supplied from Linux Magazine May 2006).
Broadcom bcm4318 integrated Wireless Hardware.

Wireless Problem:
I have installed Madriva One and it loads fine, however I cannot configure the Wireless Network as Mandriva reports that no interface is configured. So I login to the control panel and opt to configure a new wireless interface. I opt for my drivers that are used in Windows XP from the same laptop and use ndiswapper to load the drivers (bcmwl5.inf and bcmwl5.sys is located in the same directory).

The ndiswrapper configuration starts and then fails with an error "unable to find ndiswrapper interface". I really want to kick MSFT to one side and use this Linux OS, but this is a major hurdle I need to overcome.

Booting into Windows and the wireless interface i there and I can work with it.. :-(

Any advice for me is greatly welcomed.

Simon.
