What are you trying to do with it? If you want to use it for gaming, I'd
suggest Cedega:

If however you would like to run Windows applications your best bet is 
crossover:

You may have to cough out a *small* fee but it's worth it IMO. I run native 32
bit SAP clients under crossover, Notes Clients etc. Have run office but
OpenOffice 2 played a big part in getting rid of Office from M$ ... by
comparison Office blows :)

Anyway ... depending on what you are doing, either of these two would probably
be a better bet than just running wine on it's own HOWEVER, I have run wine
occassionally just to run simple non install types of w32 binaries.
