I would like to ask please if there is any way to get mcc to display
maximum info about packages like in 2006? Mandriva uses synthesis.cz files
when one uses MandrivaUpdate to add sources (except for "main" and
"updates" it seems), and I have tried to add sources manually with Easy
Urpmi, and to my frustration I ended up with the synthesis.cz also. :-( I
then tried to edit the sources in mcc to use the hdlist.cz instead, and
ended up having mcc crap out and wipe out all my sources.

I really find mcc in 2007 to be a confusing implementation of rpmdrake. It
was the reason I went back to 2006 after my first try of 2007. I thought I
would give it another try.

Is there a way to use the 2006 rpmdrake in 2007?

Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
TIA.

Thanks for the reply grumpypenguin, I have already installed old_rpm_drake.
It seems to be essentially the same as the new, and I don't understand it. I
don't really see any apparent difference here.
I really liked the way the old drake would show you the packages by repository source.
The new way seems so confusing to me, with things combined. I guess I got very used to
the "old" way. ;-)
Thanks again for the reply.

Angus,

When you install the old version of rpmdrake it doesn't become part of MCC - you have to open it separately from the command line as old_rpmdrake.

Once it opens, it does everything it used to do, including sorting packages "by medium repository".
