[Newbie]Problem with Xfree86 install

I seem to be having a problem with my install, being new to the Unix world and wanting to learn a bit more I have installed Solaris i86 on my machine.The install seems to have went okay as I can boot into Solaris,it gets as far as asking for my login and then the screen just goes black.As far as I'm aware it looks as if I haven't got Xfree installed properly. I would appreciate it if anyone can help me out as have exhausted all other avenues.   Thanks   Paul Lam
