When I copy my 3MB+ ebase files (I also have Filemaker Pro 5) to
a Zip cartridge I can read/write it on any computer.

However, when I copy these same files onto a CDR or a CDRW I
find that one cannot properly access the files due to numerous
"read only access" messages. This is not unexpected as a
CDR/CDRW (unless in the act of writing/reading) is considered
"read only" by computers. The problem stems from copying these
CD files onto a hard disk where I get exactly the same messages
poping up, i.e., "read only access". It's as if a flag or something is
embedded in the files even though they are no longer on a CD and
now reside on a good read/write medium (hard disk).

The reason for all of this grief is that when I have to give a copy of
the database I am working on to a co-worker they only have a CD
drive (for reading and copying to their hard disk).

So, any ideas? It's not access privledges and not all co-workers
have Zip drives (there is no network either), but CD-reading drives
are common. Thanks.
