As a test, I just copied an archive of a client's ebase files off a
cd (which I created in this office) onto a hard drive and opened the
files with none of the problems you note. This would seem to narrow
your troubleshooting efforts to some setting in your operating system
or the software you use to write the cd. A couple of steps I would
suggest to further narrow the scope would be to transfer other
FileMaker files the same way, to transfer files from other
applications the same way, and to transfer using a cd created on
another cd writer.
