Hi, Sorry if this is duplicated from support address, but I never can get
through to either, so I thought I'd try both.

Seem to have a big problem. Every time I try to open ebase with filemaker
5, it keeps saying my names_.102 file is damaged and cannot be opened. I
tried to use the recover command, but that did not work fully either, lost
some stuff I think. I had the
names file saved on zip, but it seems to do the same thing. There is one
file I was trying to get into, which for some reason did not have all the
info it should have, and when I tried ot get into it, it said it had a
problem and needed a record number. When I opened from the recovered names
file, another file said the same thing.

Have I messed up my database?? We are using two computers, and because we
don't have a network set up yet, are copying the names file to share back
and forth as work is done on different computers. We of course are only
using one computer at a time as not to overwrite any information. I still
have
the info on the other computer, but what can I do to safely retrive from
that? Is there a better way to backup and copy? Please help with this.

Many thanks,
Matthew Albracht
