Matthew... well there are a lot of issues here and I have a pretty good 
guess as to why your recovery isn't working.  The first big problem is that 
you've been sending a copy of only the NAMES file between 2 computers to be 
updated.  This will already cause inconsistencies in ebase... when you just 
copy this one file to different machines and make any updates to it... then 
record numbers, index numbers and possibly other calculations will go out 
of sync... so when you crash, you crash real big.

This may be a job for a consultant to fix.  You can check our list of 
consultants on our website at http://www.ebase.org/help/consultants.htm  or 
you can try to make an appeal to folks on the Support 
listserve  ([EMAIL PROTECTED] - you'll have to subscribe if you haven't 
already by typing SUBSCRIBE on the Subject line and sending the message to 
[EMAIL PROTECTED]).
