The problems are these:

We have a several standard email letters we wish to send out on a
continuing basis. On every email sent, we must create a contact
record. These email letters are sent in small batches. Some of them
require minor modification in the opening paragraph, not as a P.S.

If we send a scratch letter, to make a contact record, it requires
that we create a code. If we create a code, each code shows up in the
pull down box from which you select previous records.

If we choose "copy text from an existing source code", the correct
copy appears but the subject line must be filled in and, once again,
to make a contact record it requires that you build a source code,
even though there are only minor editorial changes. Ebase will accept
the identical source code but it then repeats that source code in the
source code list. It creates confusion and, probably, an eventually
unwieldy list of source codes from which to select.

If we choose "select an existing source code and text", you can't
make changes and it produces emails without subject lines--inserting
the subject line in more than one email is difficult to say the least.

We've been struggling with this problem for more than a day and it is
an absolute barrier to going ahead.
