Carl Paulsen here, helping some folks in S. Carolina.

Working with this database, I tried entering a payment for a names record 
and found that the Names data was not relating properly to the payment 
record.  There was no name in the Name line for the payment record, and the 
names record shows no payment record associated with it.

Also, FMP brings up a dialog box saying:

"Record number is defined to require a value, but it is not available on 
this layout.  Use another layout to assign a value to this field."

The Record Number field (from Names) is on the Payment Entry layout, but 
record number doesn't seem to be entered when the payment record is created.

Any idea what's wrong here?  Is it a relationship 
problem?  Solutions....????  HELP!
