I always have trouble getting SAMBA to work properly. All I really want out of it is to act like windows -- browse and mount other people's shares, and share directories of my own. What are the key configuration options that need to be set, and what services need to be running (i.e. smbd & nmbd)? If it is helpful, I have webmin and swat working on SuSe 8.2, and I am also comfortable editing configuration files on my own.
