alright... i just remembered something about the s-video port on my powerbook. i am pretty sure that it is only on out port.

so, as the instructions said... it appears that the only way to import video is via firewire.

so, i guess my only question is can i record it into the computer live? or do i have to record it onto the camera first and then capture it?

For s-video, you need a capture card/converter(for usb/firewire), unless your
powerbook has that built in.
I bet iMovie has an easy capture utility built it, like most other video
editors worth their salt. I wish I could tell you more. If you can do it
through usb/firewire, that's one of the great advantages of having a digital
camera, because you can control the camera to some extent through your
computer, and there are other advantages too, I think. Good luck.
