Not sure what your problem here is...  I don't know why it needs socket
drivers to mount your file system...  Are you sure you got the right
partition?

I have often wondered that myself.  I see the same LABEL thing in the
/etc/fstab file.  My only guess is that it has something to do with the
initrd image.  I believe that the initrd image has information about
which partition is the root partition, or something like that.
