[newbies] Corruption on Update

I had Mandrake 9.2 happily installed on Saturday, and I ran some urpmi 
updates on Sunday night.  Now most all of the stuff that was in the 
menu in the bottom left corner has disappeared.  I can still launch 
most apps from the terminal, but it's annoying.  It affected all users 
- we all use KDE.  How would I go about fixing this?  Thanks in 
advance.
