I'm not sure if this is a question you are asking or what, but...You'll pay hundreds of dollars for MS Offic, but not the $30 or whatever it is for crossover office!?!?
I suppose you could try and get Word to work in wine yourself, that'll be free (except for your time). Or you could just stick with Windows. Or you could use Free, plain text formats, something like latex or docbook, and a real revision control system like cvs or subversion. Those handle all the comments, change tracking, and merging pretty nicely. Then you and your lab-mates can all use whatever OS and text editors you want. Was there something else you were looking for by posting that? The papers that I write and review are in MS word. My problem is that we use comments, change tracking and merging of documents. I feel like I can't move to Linux because I have to accommodate those three functions of word (I really don't want to shell out the money for cross-over-office) _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://phantom.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/newbies _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://phantom.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/newbies
