Silly wabbits, Open Office is here. ;) I hope you have not gone to the awful mess of doing some xml format thing.

Easy option: OpenOffice, which comes with most linux distributions. If not, then just get it off the internet. If you get a good distro of OO, then it will be able to save off as .sxw (open office version of word format), or as .doc. Just do that and save the hassle, please.

I am an RA. The papers that I write and review are in MS word. My problem is
that we use comments, change tracking and merging of documents. I feel like
I can't move to Linux because I have to accommodate those three functions of
word




(I really don't want to shell out the money for cross-over-office)
