I've seen this kind of error message from Gnome lots.  It's quite
obnoxious.  I've never tracked down why exactly it has to give you
this annoying message, but, if I remember right, you can put a line in
your /etc/hosts file like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost 1063

1063 must be some sort of hostname you are getting from your DHCP server.
