i don't know that it's actually "known" for having few issues, but
i've got linux running on a Toshiba Satellite 2400...  great
machine...  only problems i have with it are self-caused...
seeing as this is the newbies list, i'm guessing you're thinking about
fedora?  i had _no_ problems getting fedora set up on my laptop, and
so the hardware appears to be quite linux-compatible...  Actually,
i've had no problems with _any_ linux distros i've tried on this
computer, and i give it high recommendations...
i'm not sure if toshiba's more recent computers are as compatible as
this one, but i have found their quality to be quite high
