Specifics: We'll be meeting in room 340 of the Crabtree, the usual
room. This should be an awesome meeting! Michael really knows his
stuff. Here's what to expect:

Getting tired of rsyncing /etc/passwd between machines? Want to have a
unified login system for Windows, Linux, and Mac machines? Or maybe you
just want an enterprise-wide e-mail directory. If so it all starts with
LDAP. LDAP is a directory system that can be used for many purposes
including user information, or even back a DNS system. LDAP defines a
set up protocols and standards for querying and manipulating a tree-like
database. I'll talk about how LDAP directory information is typically
structured, and we'll set up from scratch a simple LDAP system capable
of supporting linux and windows clients for unified logins. We'll touch
briefly on more advanced topics like SASL authentication, Kerberos and
maybe Mac OS X clients.

Hope to see you there,
   Peter
