Best is to file a bug on https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/. To access the scanner you either use libusb (if you didn't edit /etc/sane.d/niash.conf) or the scanner.o kernel module (if you uncommented and adapted a line in /etc/sane.d/niash.conf). So assign the bug to the libusb package or to the kernel package depending on how you accesses your scanner.with 1.0.10 niash backend is broken worked with 1.0.9perhaps something deeper I reinstalled 1.0.9 and it didn't work libusb problem or kernel prob?
To provide more info in your bug report do
sane-find-scanner
SANE_DEBUG_NIASH=255 scanimage -L > scannerlist.txt 2> debug_L.txt
SANE_DEBUG_NIASH=255 scanimage > testscan.pnm 2> debug_scan.txt
Use the "-d" option with the last command line if you have more than one scanner connected.
Attach the files to the bug report.
A possibility to work around the bug is to use scanner.o if you have used libusb or vice versa.
