Hi, i don't think this has broken the news yet so I thought i'd share this with you all.

I just learned about this on Thursday -- the homeowner called me about it.

Check out this document @ http://ragent.com/Advisory_Opinipon_Nonconforming_Use_05052009.pdf

/It's a very important "check" (think "checks and balances" from back when you took Civics/History) on the abuses of the current Provo City zoning laws. I don't have time to outline all the abuses or at least overreaches but you probably already know of at least some of them./

If you don't have much time, just read the Summary at the beginning and the Conclusion at the end -- together it's less than 1 page long.

Here's a key excerpt:

*"The City may not exceed the minimum requirements of the state statute. Moreover, strict compliance with ordinances unrelated to determining the use of the property may not be required."

*This is some very good news! :)

Check out discussion/analysis on it later at our Facebook discussion board -- http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=67103834529&topic=8974 <http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=67103834529&topic=8974>

Thanks, hope to see you at a meeting sometime this spring or at least by the summer! :)
Take care,
