I'd guess you refer to the issue that SAMBA previously only supported the POSIX draft ACL model. that has changed since. we tracked this via: http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6464952 http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6556138 those have been fixes in opensolaris build 66 and Solaris 10 Update 4 by providing SAMBA 3.0.25 and corresponding native V4/NT style ACL mode support via a new samba VFSmodule: vfs_zfsacl.c --- frankB
