We're having an interoperability problem where the combination of a Solaris
NFS server and Linux NFS client results in the sgid bit on a directory
being ignored when new directories are created within it over NFS.

I initially asked about it on the zfs-discuss list, but it really doesn't
have anything to do with zfs directly, and now that I see there is a list
for NFS itself I thought I would inquire further here.

Rather than repeat everything, here are the relevant threads:

        http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=116616&tstart=0

Basically, we have an open service request trying to get this behavior
modified to match expected sgid bit semantics, but currently the feedback
from Sun support is that they don't want to change it.

Perhaps someone on this list could be kind enough to review this issue and
provide some feedback?

Thanks...
