Thanks Dennis, I'll pay more attention to the RPMs at idle and the other things to watch for tomorrow morning and report back. I thought of the wood screw conspiracy theory too (before I found the wood screws). My first thought was that someone tinkered with my tire. My neighborhood is known for "malicious mischief" and vandalism problems - boat covers slashed, baseball bats to the mailboxes, mailboxes blown up but flat tires are usually valve stems clipped off and tires slashed. Wood screws would be a new one.
About 4-5 summers ago in 4 months time our family had 9 flat tires due to all sorts of new construction junk - nails, screws, bolts (no new construction in our neighborhood) and the flats were happening on the other side of town not when we were near our house (for what that's worth). And we weren't the only ones in the area. It was happening to a lot of other people all over town. Careless contractors? Don't know. Wrote letters to the editor and so did other people sick of it. Everyone have a great rest of your weekend!
