True, cost cutting was an issue, but that's because Honda was reaching
for a $3995 price, absurdly low for a 750 in 1991. (Competitive bikes
were at least $500 more.) The idea, of course, was to broaden the
market and entice in as many new riders as they could get. That's a
good thing for the sport.

And while they left off the center stand, they did include "deluxe"
items like self-adjusting hydraulic valves, freeing us from the
endless cost and hassle of valve adjustments. You can easily add a
center stand for about $150. Try changing from regular valves to
adjustable and see what that costs.
