Well in Florida there are two every month in different areas. It's mostly
Harley stuff, but every time I see something new. They have windshields,
saddlebags, exhaust, grips, clothes, jewelry, tires, rims, engine parts,
trannies and odds and ends. It takes about an hour to walk it.

Go to a bike flea market and get the parts cheaper. Just need mirrors and a
handlebar. You can live with the dented tank for a while. Keep riding.

Not ever happen again? I dumped my 160 twice, but that was long ago.
Haven't gone down with the 250, but did touch the rear bumper of a car that ran
a stop sign on a cross street a few years back. She stopped, got out just to
look at her car, and said to me, "I hope you didn't damage my car. "
I lost it. I generally don't use such language, but I was furious when I
blurted out "B---h, you had a stop sign!!!" She said no I did not. I asked
what, are you blind??? Do you know what that octagonal sign is right there?? as
I pointed to it across the street from where she parked...
I thought for sure I was going down, but between the downshifting to use
the engine to brake and clamping down hard on the front brake and moving toward
the middle of the road (couldn't go around - oncoming traffic, and around a
curve and at night), I managed to just rub the rear bumper and was surprised
when it didn't just grab the tire and put me down.
She knew I was furious and got back in her SUV and called someone on her
cellphone - probably the cops - and I was not interested in waiting around a
half hour and then taking another half hour filling out forms and being late
for work because of this prissy skirt who thought she was "all that... "
I took her license, make, and color of her SUV, and a description of her on
my notepad, and left. There wasn't even black from the bike's tire on her
bumper. I shined my light all over it to find out.
That experience was a rush, man.

    Stanley

Sorry to hear about what happened. Glad to hear you walked away with
only scrapes. They say there are two type of riders out there, those
who have dumped their bikes that those who WILL!!! Now you've done it
and it's out of your system so it won't ever happen again..

Hope you get back on and in the wind soon...
