I have an 84 cb700. I love this bike and put a lot of work into it but
now I can't get it to start. After riding it several hundred miles
this summer all at once it wont start. The key is on. kill switch is
in run position, its in neutral, battery is charged, and lights are
on. I can jump the contacts on the silinoid and the engine will turn
over but there is no firing of the engine. I have removed the front
cowl and cleaned all the connectors but no luck. As I press the start
button the lights will dim slightly but I do believe there is plenty
of current. This did happen to me a couple of times earlier this year
and I thought it was the wiring so I replaced all the battery and
starter cables. I also had the battery load tested and the results
were good. Please, can anyone advise me on what to do or how to at
least test the various components. any help would be most welcome.
