I also use WD-40 at the Y tubes and connecting tubes. Use a large screwdriver
to pry up the edges and spray the WD-40 in there. Work it around by twisting
the tubes a bit and they will pop off a lot easier. I can get my carbs off in
15 minutes these days. HotrodMamma.

You will disconnect the throttle cables and the choke cable at the carbs.
You will need to remove the seat, sidepanels, gas tank, and anything else in
your way. Loosen the airbox so you can slide it back out of the way, loosen the
hose clamps and remove the Y-tubes between the airbox and the carbs. Next is
your choice, some loosen the clamps and gently yet firmly pry the carbs loose
from the intake, others loosen the 8 allen screws and remove the intake along
with the carb unit. I prefer the latter, I modified an allen wrench with my
bench grinder and can get to all of the allen screws this way. Reinstallation
is basically reversing the process. The Y-tubes are sometimes stubborn and need
to be coerced with a heat gun or blow dryer to make them maleable enough to get
back on.
The question is what are you going to do once you get them off? Others on
this list can give you better advice for that or a quick search of the archives.

I need some advice on how to remove and reinstall a 1984 Honda
Nighthawk CB650SC four carb setup. What do I do with the throttle
cables, what do I need to take off before I can remove the setup? etc.
Thank you guys for all your help.
