May I suggest trying a simple wire from the handlebars to an engine mounting bolt ? it sounds like a ground issue. Pushing the button should put the headlight out and activate the solenoid. The most seen failure of a switch assembly is burning out the light contact. In other words, no headlight.

To: "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" <[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 12:13 AM I recently bought a used but still working starter button/ kill switch assembly due to thinking that the starter button was bad and wasn't starting my bike, I put the new one on and the same thing happens. Headlight will be on, when I hit the starter button the headlight dims but nothing happens. I can start my bike by jumping the starter solenoid, and the bike will run just fine. Is this problem the starter solenoid, is it the start/kill switch assembly, or is it some other wiring? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
