I have been reading the posts and wanted to ask a question.  We have this bike 
at the Honda shop right now.  When we bought it, it wasn't running.  They 
cleaned the carborator, put in a new battery tweaked the sticking throttle and 
some other minor stuff.  The bike had been sitting about two years.  Gas still 
clean and no rust in tank.  The bike had been dumped and gear shift was bent 
and a dent in the tank.  Nothing really major.  The shop took it out for a spin 
and said it started off fine but when it got to top speed it cut out and lost 
power.  They recleaned the carborator and did another run.  Still the same 
thing.  Now they are saying something about the compression and timing.  My 
question is what do you think would cause the engine to lose power when brought 
to top speed.  I will also have to lower the bike because I am only 5'2".  What 
kind of cost am I looking for this to be done.  Sorry to seem so ignorant but 
have motorcycle
 license but don't think a two-day course prepares me for the highway and 
around town.  This is my first two-wheel bike, as we have a trike.  Way 
different animal.  My idea of tinkering with bike is to take to a mechanic.  I 
do realize I need to learn how to tinker with my own bike to keep in shape but 
this is my bike to learn how to ride on and I really don't know what questions 
I should be asking Honda dealership about the length of time taking to fix bike 
and what really is going on.  I do do the checkout on the trike.
