I've been thinking about this all day...your gas cap can not be
sealed...if it was sealed gas would never flow into your
carburetor...your gas tank needs air to replace the volume of gas that
is burned in the engine.  If there was no way for air to get in, you
would only get the gas that could overcome the vacuum created inside
the tank.  I guess the answer is either don't fill it up so full, or
fill it up to the top, but then ride a few miles to burn the bit that
will spill out the fuel vent...
