Best bike available at a good price, is exactly why I went for this
one. Also knowing that I had a second 750 with most of the goodies I
need to improve it, tipped the scale. So the purchase wasn't as
impulsive as it probly could've been.

I'll have to ponder the swap idea. I really haven't made plans for
what I'll do with the '95 yet. I've been collecting Fleabay parts --
frame, forks, triple tree and swing arm -- for it for some time now,
planning an eventual complete teardown and rebuild. I'd need the tins
if I decide to follow thru with that after this one's the way I want
it.

Actually, the tank on the '96 is its worst defect. A half-dollar
sized, fairly deep dent in the side from falling against something in
a garage. It's also a slightly lighter yellow than the rest of the
bodywork, indicating it has repainted at some point. Adding insult to
injury, the previous owner placed it upside down on a colored
sweatshirt to work on the petcock. Apparently some gas leaked onto
the shirt, dissolving the dye, and resulting in a large, ugly brown
stain in the paint. Haven't tried all that hard to remove it, but it
seems resistant to ordinary methods.

The rear cowl has been notched, apparently to fit a long-gone luggage
rack. Neither of these things concern me at the moment, since I plan
to swap them out anyway.

I guess admiration of Pearl Shining Yellow is in the eye of the
beholder. I had both bikes parked side by side for a few days at the
trucking company where I work. The drivers who passed by exclaimed
over the yellow, despite the obvious defects in the tank, and were
seemingly unimpressed with the shiny, black '95, which despite its
hidden defects, looks damn good.

So, there's a marketing message there. If you wanna sell a bike,
paint it yellow and park it near a truck stop (!)
