ive had 3 that got named... warlock (06 ranger, white) cabreneal (tolkinen elvish for raven, 99 250 NH) and now tuvoc (previous owner, im taking the boat superstition here that its bad luck to rename it without an elaborite ceromoney to the sea gods. There first bike was a vulcon and that got named spock... I love dorks... Btw, its the 86 GL 1200)
so, thats 2 male and 1 femaleish, although i do tend to call tuvoc my girl.... (i love dorks... Who else has dorkey names for there bikes??) -----Original Message----- Date: Wednesday, April 06, 2011 2:59:08 am To: "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" <[email protected]> From: "surfswab" <[email protected]> Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Re: "It" or "She"? Interesting question. Generally, vehicles of transport (ships, trains, trucks, cars, etc.) are referred to in the feminine, mostly because of the nurturing nature of the relationship -- take care of your ride and it will take care of you -- implying a built-in neccessity for ongoing maintenance, much the same as is required for a relationship with any woman. Neglect it and it will neglect you, in other words. Abuse it, it will abuse you, con mucho gusto. Baby it, be gentle with it, and it will give you miles and smiles in return. The bible, of all sources, states the case very succinctly, regardless of what you decide to call it: "Be kind to your ass, for it bears you." -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
