I been using chain oil. Therefore my back rim is getting all black, greasy, and hard to clean.
I another member uses chain wax. I bought a can of it. I clean my chain first with chain degreaser and a chain brush. I understand that it takes awhile for the chain wax really gets in the chain. For the past 4 days after each ride, I have been putting chain wax on as instructed via the can container. It sounds like I am running my chain without oil. The noise is little louder than when I had chain oil. I would like your opinions. I like to keep my back rim clean. Let me add some condtiions to my chain and my driving to get better opinions. 1. I have z chain that supposed to be better than a O-ring chain 2. I drive an average of 880 miles per week (work & college) 3. I have to drive down a 1 mile dirt road to work 5 days a week. I am thinking that the wax is better because of the protection? But I could be wrong. what is your opinion and please explain why. I bought a chain degreaser and chain brush.
