I have a gl1200, a little newer then pauls (86) it is 700 pounds and acts like it. Keep the carbs clean because pulling them and putting them back is a real pain. I do love it and pauls looks to be in great shape

Its an 1100, shaft bike. They are not small, and they are HEAVY. Not to dissuade you at all I'd love to have one, great torque, low seat height, comfortable, and very nimble for a bike that size. Paul's is a beautiful example, you would do well to get it. They have a cult following so parts are still available and they have an active enthusiast community. They do require timing belt changes but that's is both cheap and easy, they have points but an electronic conversion is available. Just don't let the carbs get gummed up, rebuild kits are really expensive. They probably require periodic valve adjustments but those would be easy I imagine since the valve covers are fully exposed, and the engine is a low RPM motor. Other than fluid changes I can't imagine any other maintenance requirements, besides wear item replacement. The GL line is noted for their reliability. About your Gold Wing. How big is the engine? Is it shaft or chain driven? What kind of maintenance have you done and what should I expect if I am the new owner? Looks beautiful but smaller than I thought a GL would be? Where abouts are you in Canada in relation to California?
