Honda tachs are notoriously short-lived and almost impossible to diassemble without damage, due to the press-fit way they are put together.
And yours has been discontinued anyway, so there's no hope of buying new. You might try an Ebaymotors search for a used one. Or -- and this is what I'd do -- use it as an excuse to eliminate your speedo also and go with one of the new digital speedo/tachs. Some of them are quite impressive (built-in clocks, lap timers, dual tripmeters, temp gages, etc.). Some brand names that come to mind are Acewell and Koso. Do a Google search for sources.
