What year? Is it carburated? If you keep trying to rev it higher will it loose
speed and eventually die? It sounds like a restriction in the fuel line.

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] ST1100 bogs down at 6,000 RPM

Hey Guys,

I know this isn't a Nighthawk question, but you guys are "My friend that
knows motorcycles". And thanks for being that friend! I try to be that
friend back when I can.

My ST1100 runs great under 6,000 rpm, but when I get on it to pass someone
or just playing around and the rpm's 6,000 or so it bogs down. Kinda like
when a bike is cold and you give it to much gas, but it does this every
time.

If I shift and bring the rpm's down under 6,000 it stops bogging down and
runs normal.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Brian
